Formula 1 drivers are pretty used to slippery conditions during the race season. But Max Verstappen decided to test his handling skills on a whole new level – by taking an F1 car to the limits on a track made of snow.
The 18-year-old Toro Rosso driver had metal chains fitted to the tires of the Red Bull F1 car before he took it through its paces on the ski slopes of Kitzbühel, Austria.
Watch as he tears up the pistes on the makeshift track, shooting clouds of snow from under the rear wheels as huge crowds look on from the sidelines.
The first video shows helmet-view footage of the event, which gives you an awesome perspective of the acceleration. The second video then shows what it looked like for the spectators.
Wish I’d been there!
