The Bugatti Chiron can do 0-62mph in less than 2.5 seconds with a 261mph top speed. Buying one would cost you a cool $2.6million, and just 500 will be made
The Bugatti Chiron is one of the most incredible feats of engineering in the history of mankind, and as these pictures show it’s quite something to look at too.
Its predecessor the Veyron was already a masterpiece – but somehow the team behind the Italian manufacturer managed, with the Chiron, to make something even more remarkable.
Sadly, looking at pictures of it is the most the majority of us will ever do with this monster of a car – as just 500 will be made, with the first of them set to be delivered in the fall of this year.
On top of that, each one will cost $2.6million (£1.86m, €2.4m) – which obviously puts the vast majority of planet earth’s population out of the running.
However, it’s without doubt still something to applaud and, well, admire.
The Chiron can do 0-62mph in under 2.5 seconds with an electrically limited top speed of 261mph (420km/h) – which is 3mph faster than the Veyron and, Bugatti claims, makes it the fastest car in the world.
Without the limiter – which is needed to stop the tires exploding – the firm says it could top out at around 285-287mph. So even if you do manage to ever see one on the road, chances are it’ll be gone in a flash.
But unless you’re a multi-millionaire, billionaire, or lucky enough to get a test drive, you’ll just have to look at these pictures, close your eyes, and imagine what it’s like to drive.
