The new Bentley Bentayga SUV has just received its global public debut on the slopes of Kitzbühel, Austria, days after race ace Max Verstappen took to the pistes there in a Formula 1 car.
The Bentayga is Bentley’s first venture into SUV territory and is set to arrive in dealerships in the coming weeks and months. There will be 608 first edition models produced, with the number representing the twin-turbocharged 6.0liter W12 engine’s metric power output of 608PS (600hp).
The Bentayga is being marketed as the “world’s fastest and most powerful SUV” and comes after a period of huge investment by the British firm.
The powertrain, which can produce 663lb/ft of torque, is capable of propelling the Bentayga from 0-60mph in 4.0 seconds with a 187mph top speed.
Bentley have described the new SUV as “pioneering”. European director Robert Engstler said: “The Bentayga will play an important role in our growth strategy.”
