This Purple McLaren 570S Will Make You Hungry For Berries

A few months ago we brought you some great pictures of the new McLaren 570S in orange. But it turns out that the car’s ‘Mauvine Blue’ color scheme – aka the purplest purple you’ve ever seen – is what it’s all about.

McLaren showed off the 570S Coupe in the eye-catching shade – which makes the car more than resemble a beautyberry – at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, with the car in pre-production phase ahead of its fall release.

Once you get over the fact the Mauvine Blue 570S looks like an eggplant, you will realise that actually all cars should be made in purple – especially ones that can do 0-62mph in just 3.2 seconds with a top speed of 204mph. Why? Just because they can be.

The 570S Coupe is part of McLaren’s new Sports Series and along with the 540C Coupe, will be the first from the range to make its debut in the fall.

The Sports Series also includes the 675LT, of which 500 will be made – with all already sold to customers. Then there’s the 650S Le Mans, of which just 50 will be produced. And, yes, before you ask, all of them are sold out too.

Prices for the Sports Series range start at around $196,000 so they don’t come cheap. All the cars are planned to have been launched by the end of 2017.

McLaren expects the new range to double its output of sports cars.
