Middle-class mums of the world are celebrating tonight — after the unveiling of the Range Rover Evoque convertible. Billed as “a convertible for all seasons”, it will be priced from $50,475 when it goes on sale next summer.
Promo pics show the new vehicle against backdrops of rugged coastline and snow-covered peaks, and handily display how you can fit a pair of skis between the rear seats.
The Evoque convertible’s retractible roof takes 18 seconds to stow, and can be activated with the flick of a button at speeds of up to 30mph. It takes 21 seconds to put it back up again.
The standard infotainment system comes with a 10.2in touchscreen. The Evoque convertible seats four, and can hold an additional 8.9 cubic feet of cargo space.
Under the hood is a 240hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine, with AWD as standard alongside a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Land Rover’s design boss Gerry McGovern said: The Range Rover Evoque Convertible is a vehicle for all seasons. Its uniquely distinctive design and world-class engineering add another dimension to the Range Rover family.
Apparently, it goes offroad too…
