This might look just like any other Maserati — but get behind the wheel and you’ll feel like a Rocket Man.
The 2005 Quattroporte V is set to fetch around $25,000 when it goes under the hammer in March, because it used to be owned by Elton John.
The Candle In The Wind singer actually had it personally made to order with a string of extras including rear DVD player and screen with games input.
He bought the car the same year he and long-term partner David Furnish became one of the first couples in the UK to be entered into a civil partnership. It was sold in 2010, the same year their first son Zachary was born to a surrogate mother.
The Maserati even comes with a collection of press cuttings from when Elton sold the car, as well as his name on the original registration document.
The car has done just 28,000 miles, and is in excellent condition. Whether the fact Elton John owned it makes it special, we’ll leave up to you to decide.
The Maserati is set to be sold by Classic Car Auctions in the UK as part of their March sale. Last December they old a 2007 Range Rover Sport formerly owned by David Beckham, a 1967 Ford Mustang Convertible owned by actor Charles Dance.
