The new Ford Focus RS has taken the prized title of Top Gear magazine’s Car of the Year.
The 165mph hot hatch took the prize in the magazine’s latest Awards Edition.
Costing from £29,995, the magazine praised its combination of affordability, practicality, and fun.
The car delivers 345bhp from a tuned-up 2.3liter four-cyclinder EcoBoost turbo engine, but can still be used as an everyday runaround.
Editor-in-chief Charlie Turner said: “It’s the complete package and proves you don’t always need to spend big money to have a huge amount of fun.”
Top Gear’s mag is the UK’s best-selling car magazine. The new series of the show, hosted by a team including Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc, is set to premiere on May 22 with a series of six episodes.
