Ferrari have just released the first photos of the new LaFerrari spider — which it’s rumoured will be given the Aperta name.
Glistening in the sun, the droptop version of the Italian firm’s iconic car looks majestic in jet black with red detailing.
The limited-edition convertible will come as either a soft top or carbon-fiber hard-top and features the same grunt as its coupe counterpart — with he same 8.0liter V12 and 120-kW electric motor.
It will have similar performance doing 0-62mph in under three seconds with a top speed of around 217mph.
The official name hasn’t been released yet, as Ferrari say that will happen at the Paris Motor Show. But photos downloaded from the firm’s site have the files named as “laferrari-aperta”.
The Aperta name has been given to other limited-run vehicles like the recent SA Aperta, a souped up version of the 458.
Ferrari say the new convertible has had several changes made to the chassis so the car is as rigid as the coupe, and they’ve also adjusted the aerodynamics to maintain the same drag as the full-body version.
