The 2015 Nissan GTR Nismo will cost from $149,990 — and will go on sale in the US in mid 2014. Its 3.8liter V6 boasts a staggering 600hp and produces a face-gurning 481lb/ft of torque. It also looks the business.
The 2015 Nissan GTR Nismo currently holds the lap record for a mass production vehicle at Germany’s famous Nordschleife circuit with a time of 7:08.679. It has a top speed of around 195mph, and features technology perfected by the Japanese firm during its experiences racing its GT3-spec car in events including this year’s Nürburgring 24-hour race.
State-of-the-art aerodynamics produce an extra 100kg of downforce compared to the normal GTR model when travelling at 186mph — meaning even at super-high speeds the car easily sticks to the road. It also has improved engine cooling as well as race-spec suspension, with three different set-ups available: Comfort, Normal and R for use on the race track.
The car features 20in tires developed specially for the 2015 Nissan GTR Nismo by Dunlop, as well as six-spoke wheels adopted from the Nissan GT500. For safety the car features a 17mm hollow anti-role bar, which is stronger but lighter than the one used in the standard GTR. The body has also been strengthened.
Inside, the car boasts carbon-fiber backed RECARO seats (only in the European/Japanese vehicles), with red stitching, plus a racing steering wheel and digital tachometer.
Looks-wise it couldn’t be better. Menacing, angular lines make the car look like something from a Japanese Manga cartoon. It will come in five different collours: white, black, silver, red and dark matte grey. The 2015 Nissan GTR Nismo will be available first in Japan in February 2014, before later being released in the US and Europe.
